Ya'll My Cowboys Have Always Been Hero's

If you are old enough to remember Roy Roger's horse's name, or the name of his side kick, he had more than one, or his side kicks Jeep. (for extra credit). Roy's dog and last but not least his leading lady and real life wifes name.

If you only knew half of these without giving a Google your cowboy reputation is in serious question. If you knew less than half there is no question about it. If you knew more than half congrats pardner. Your part of a dying breed.(that's not a metaphor). Like myself you may have spent (neigh horse humor) invested many saturday mornings in the 1960's self educating.

If you knew all the answers it's official, that's right your old. If you didn't even know who Roy Roger's is maybe there's still hope. Stop now and go where all Old cowboys go. No! No! not there I mean Youtube.

Roy without fail every saturday morning was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and got throwed in the Calaboose (that's a jail where the benevolent old sheriff's daughter brings you lunch). At the same time letting down both young and old not to mention being misunderstood by the leading lady.

All the while only shooting back to protect said same. Boy was he in a tight spot. In the nick of
time shooting the gun from the villains hand without drawing blood or getting dirty. All in 30 min. I bring this up to point out we now commonly understand. The images that we put in our head, both visual and spoken we tend to act out.

So it's no great mystery when one generation to the next behaves different than the last. Look no further than what we are looking at. This should give us Pause, but Hollywood seems to be stuck on Fast Forward today! I'm afraid my metaphors are a bit outdated I should Rewind that last sentence, there I did it again.(BTW my metaphors are VHS).

Hold your horses Papa Randy you say I'm nothing like Roy. If they throw you in the Calaboose it's probably for good reason, and your leading lady understands you only too well ! Yes it is so, but just imagine how I might have turned out without my saturday morning home work.

Not only did Roy repair his reputation, save the ladies virtue, and her father's ranch, and most difficult of all gained the  mother's blessing. Week in week out! We were treated with an action packed 1/2 hr. plus a dose of cowboy psychology for good measure . Did I also mention he also sang.

Happy trails to you
This is Papa Randy I'am
